Mokaflor Farm – Tanzania

The Muhurile Amcos is a small cooperative located at approximately 1,100 metres above sea level in the north-western region of Tanzania, known as Kagera, near Lake Victoria. This area is characterised by a permeable and porous soil, capable of retaining just the right amount of water to ensure a constant supply of moisture to the plants. It is precisely this balance between soil, altitude and climate that favours the production of a high-quality Robusta coffee, with a clean and aromatically rich profile.

The cooperative is composed primarily of women, who play an essential role in providing technical and financial support to local smallholder farmers. Their daily commitment contributes to the improvement of agricultural techniques and to the economic and social growth of the rural communities in the region.

The Muhurile Amcos coffee is certified organic, grown in full respect of the environment and biodiversity. The plants thrive without the use of chemical fertilisers or pesticides, thanks to sustainable farming practices and the use of natural compost.

During the harvest season, between April and July, the cherries are hand-picked at the moment of full ripeness. They then undergo natural processing and are dried on raised drying beds, with constant rotation of the cherries to ensure uniform drying and an accurate selection of the finest beans.
