In Costa Rica, coffee is grown almost exclusively at more than 1.500 meters above sea level on rich, well drained land of volcanic origin. This coffee is considered to be one of the finest coffees. High altitudes ensure a better quality coffee, not only because a greater sourness of the bean gives an improved flavour, but also because the cold nights slow the plant’s growth and this, in turn, intensifies the aroma. Moreover, the regular rainfall, typical of high altitudes, is fundamental for the plant to grow properly.

Its sourness is marked and refined. It also has an excellent body and a typical vanilla flavor.

Taste

This coffee was tasted with a espresso extraction of 25 ml at 93°C in 25 seconds. The degassing of the coffee took place in 48 hours. Its cream has a hazelnut colour with light brown nuances. The aroma is of apple and dates and the aftertaste is sweet.
