In these difficult times, caused by COVID-19, our thoughts are especially with people who are necessarily in isolation without the possibility to take care for having enough inventories.
The unexpected arrival of the pandemic forces 60 million Italians to stay at home. For the majority of the population, this means to stay in their own convenient accommodation with the possibility to acquire food at the supermarket (the closest, if possible).
But in case of the less prosperous, this means finding themselves in a situation with huge difficulties. Not only caused by the limited space of their accommodations (if available), but also caused by huge financial problems which raise the issue of whether and how to get food and other essentials.
Therefor the ‘Gruppo di Volontariato Vicenziano di Firenze’ offers the service of delivering food directly to the home of many Italian and foreign families living in Florence who currently need support.
The association ‘Gruppo Volontariato Vicenziano’ was founded in 1617 by San Vincenzo de‘ Paoli a Châtillon-Les-Dombes and is present in Florence since 1858. The aim of the association is to support Italian and foreign citizens with food packages, clothes and community centres.
