One of the yearly most important and awaited events by the coffee community is the SIGEP in Rimini. This year we had the chance to participate with our Espresso Academy and the Caffèlab line thanks to Elektra Coffee Machines and DM Italia.
At this year’s Sigep in Rimini, the Espresso Academy team actively participated at the stand of Elektra Espresso Machines, a company which has been producing espresso machines for over 70 years. The goal during SIGEP was to promote our courses, as well as our online shop and specialty coffee line, Caffelab! Our visitors had the opportunity to taste some of our single origin coffees, such as the Etiopia Meteku Shentu, as well as our bestseller LAB100 blend.
We also had the opportunity to participate at the booth of our partner DM Italia to present our specialty coffee line Caffelab and make tastings with the latest brewing methods. This was especially successful as DM Italia provided us with the latest model of the Kinto Coffee Dripper range. This product will soon be available on our online shop!
Elektra Espresso Machines
However, the machine we used most at the show was the Belle Epoque Riforma, reminiscent of the first espresso machines made around the year 1900. It is hardly comparable to our current models. The machine turned out to be a real crowd puller!
One of Sigep’s key goals was also to meet contacts of the coffee industry: from importers of green coffee to coffee roasters, trainers and barista, to espresso machine producers and accessory sellers.

We would like to take the opportunity to congratulate all participants in the Italian Coffee Championships, who have invested their willpower, much practice and passion. Also a hurray to our Espresso Academy trainer and coffee expert, Helena Oliviero, who won the second place in the CUP TASTER championship. Having already represented Italy at the World Cup in Brazil, she will certainly continue to astonish us in the coming years!
